We secured the site on East Road in 2007, identifying it as a great location for high quality student housing, and much needed hotel accommodation. The mixed-use development responds to the streets around it, with 673 student apartments situated near the residential area to the north.

“If there is to be a new vernacular in the area, it is going to be buildings that are robust and improve with age” said Paul Sandilands, Director at Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands. These were the renowned Architects we partnered with on 10 East Road. The design had to sympathetically balance a very modern and distinctive development with a heritage London building; the Three Crowns pub. The facades are sympathetic to the neighboring streets. Different colour mortars have been used to create a distinction between the building’s different uses.
